Just Like That Love

The Gift

The doorbell rang. She opened the door.

It was a parcel. She signed for it as a nicely dressed man handed over a sparkly red box, neatly gift wrapped.

She was puzzled as she was not expecting any gifts.

She read for the addresses. It was addressed to Him; from someone called Lucy.

“Here is a gift parcel for you.” She immediately informed.

“For me?” He appeared from the bedroom with a wondered expression.

“Yes.” She handed over the box to him.

“Who is it from?” he asked as he turned sides looking for the name of the sender.

“It is from Lucy. Who is Lucy?” she asked with hands on hips.

“Oh my God! I had told her not to do something this stupid.” he said frantically.

“I asked, who the hell is Lucy??” she was angry this time.

“Sweetheart, please don’t be mad.” he said anxiously.

“Don’t give me a reason to be mad.” she was right on the money.

“Lucy is this girl in my office who has a massive crush on me. And if I have to be completely honest with you, she is so beautiful that even I am falling for her, I guess.” He confessed.

“What????!!!” she screamed, literally screamed, and rushed inside the bedroom.

He followed her, still holding on to the gift box that had bugled the battle.

“What are you doing?” he asked as she picked up a bag. “You can’t go like that. You cannot leave me.”

“I am not leaving. YOU are.” She said firmly opening his wardrobe and taking out the pile of his pants and dumping into the empty bag.

He burst into laughter which baffled her even more. Dumping his clothes into the bag slowed down.

“What? And now you even find this funny! Haah? You shameless moron.” She said angrily with teary eyes.

“Ok ok honey. I think this is enough. Go and grab your purse and look for a red paper inside.” He said holding her shoulders as she shun away.

“What? Why?”

“Just do it sweetie. Please?”

She brought her purse from the wardrobe and plucked out a little red piece of paper which was folded thrice. She opened. It read…

‘Sweetheart, firstly you should know, I love you more than anything, and anyone, else in this world. Secondly you must know, the box received is a gift for you, a diamond ring that you desired for long. I had purchased and made them send it like this. There is no Lucy in my office, or in my world. I just love to see you freak out, you know?’

She looked up from the paper. He was standing right in front of her with a smile to fall for.

“Why do you do such things? Why? Do you have an explanation?” she tried to find reason for what could have given her a heart attack.

“Because you are irresistible when you are angry.” He had his reasons.

A tear rolled down her cheek from welled up reddish eyes; the hue of anger, disgust, love and relief.

She picked up a pillow and started beating him mercilessly as he ducked with holding his ears in Sorry.

“I will Kill you! I love you, but I will Kill You!!!” she yelled before hugging him in respite.
